This ginger rice recipe is an excellent way to spice up any dish as it can go with essentially everything. It is a quick and simple recipe and an incredible way to use up leftover rice. Just pair this rice with curry for a decadent breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Bored of the good ol’ plain rice? This rice ginger recipe will basically infuse a whole new life in them.
And it comes together in just 20 minutes!
It is just like my Hong Kong fried rice or Filipino garlic fried rice, but totally fresh flavor profile.
The minced ginger is cooked in butter, then leftover rice is mixed and finally topped with coriander for a wholesome side dish that pairs exceptionally well with Asian-inspired meals like curries, and stir-fries.
Plus, if you don’t have any leftover rice from the last day, you can still make this dish using freshly made rice.
A perfect side for a delicious lunch or a weeknight dinner is just a few steps away. And it can also be served at breakfast if you’re craving some rice in the morning.

I personally like basmati rice as it is long-grained and easily available.

Leftover rice: They are ideal for this recipe as they don’t easily break down, and their taste also evolves over time.

Serving Options
Curries: This rice recipe is perfect to pair with paneer butter masala, paneer kali mirch, or my favorite butter chicken.
Pasta Sauces: This might be unconventional, but I love mixing these rice with pasta sauces like sour cream pasta sauce, marinara sauce, or this pesto alfredo sauce.
Stir-fries: This recipe also works well with roasted veggies like this cabbage carrot stir-fry. The veggies give their crunch, while the rice infuses unbeatable aroma.
Grilled meat: The ginger in the rice elevates the smokiness of grilled meat and conjures a wonderful combination!
