If you are on the hunt for a super simple and mouth-watering Asian-inspired dinner, consider this your final stop.

Because these butter garlic noodles are going to blow you away with their slurpy noodles, garlicky essence, and buttery glaze.

They are such a breeze to make like my sesame brown butter udon noodles, and peanut salad.

And don’t forget about the sheer number of elements you need for this recipe which are just garlic, butter, oregano, red chili flakes, and noodles.

I reckon it is a highly versatile dish that I can eat as it is for a snack, or I pair them with roasted veggies, or curries like paneer tikka masala and dum aloo for an Indian touch as a wholesome meal.

Let’s start cooking, shall we?

Ingredients in This Garlic Butter Noodles Recipe

Noodles: I like to use normal wheat noodles for their thickness and sturdy texture, but flat rice noodles also go pretty well with this recipe or any other thick noodles.

Garlic: Garlic infuses a great savory flavor and an aroma that is hard to beat.

Butter: Butter just lifts the flavors of all the ingredients up to eleven, and makes the noodles silky smooth.

Oregano: It’s a nice way to add some herby goodness into the dish.

Red Chili Flakes: A little bit of spice and make your taste buds tingle with joy!

Basil Leaves (optional): It gives a pop of green and brims the noodles with freshness.

Tips & Variations

Alternative method: The other method (which I prefer and is tidier) for making the dish is to keep the cooked noodles in a big separate bowl, and pour the garlic butter mixture over the noodles.

Vegan and gluten-free version: Just swap out the butter and noodles with their plant-based and gluten-free counterparts.

Serving Options

  • Think of these noodles as a blank canvas and they go incredibly well with curries, gravies, and broths.
  • Top the noodles with grated cheddar or parmesan and enjoy it as a complete meal.
  • You can also hoist up the nutrition levels by adding roasted veggies like beans, cauliflower, and carrots, or make it protein-heavy with grilled meat, fish, or eggs.

How to Store

In the fridge: Place the noodles in an air-tight container, and store them in the fridge for up to 3 days.

In the freezer: To preserve the noodles for a longer duration, freeze them and they can last for 2 months without them going bad.

Reheating: First thaw them properly, then use a skillet to reheat them. If the noodles are too dry, add some hot water over them.
