For boiling the noodles:
- Water
- 1 tsp Oil
- Salt as required
- 250 gm Noodles
For garlic butter mixture:
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 5-6 cloves Garlic chopped
- ½ tsp Oregano
- ½ tsp Red Chili Flakes
- Salt as required
Boil some water in a pot, add salt, oil, and noodles, and cook them for 7-8 minutes till al dante.
Reserve the noodle water, and sieve out the rest.
In a skillet, melt butter, and add minced garlic. Cook it till it turns a little golden brown.
Add oregano and red chili flakes, and saute them.
Add the boiled noodles, and mix them properly with the garlic butter mixture.
Sprinkle some chopped basil leaves on top and your garlic butter noodles are ready to be served.
- Alternative method: The other method (which I prefer and is tidier) for making the dish is to keep the cooked noodles in a big separate bowl, and pour the garlic butter mixture over the noodles.
- Vegan and gluten-free version: Just swap out the butter and noodles with their plant-based and gluten-free counterparts.
How to store:
In the fridge: Place the noodles in an air-tight container, and store them in the fridge for up to 3 days.
In the freezer: To preserve the noodles for a longer duration, freeze them and they can last for 2 months without them going bad.
Reheating: First thaw them properly, then use a skillet to reheat them. If the noodles are too dry, add some hot water over them.
