Equipment

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Turmeric Powder
  • tsp Ginger (minced)
  • ¼ cup Coconut Oil
  • tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • tbsp Cinnamon Powder
  • ½ tsp Ground Cloves
  • 2 tbsp Honey (optional)
  • ½ cup Water

Instructions

  • Take a regular-sized pot, place it on the stove, and switch on the flame to medium
  • Add the ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, crushed black pepper, minced ginger, ground cloves, honey, and coconut oil. Stir continuously and mix them well.
  • Keep the flame on medium, and stir regularly ill the coconut oil melts and you have a nice thick paste.
  • Add a splash of hot water to burning of spices, and maintain consistency.
  • Once you smell the aroma, switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  • Then, place it into a glass container, and store it in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
  • Your golden paste is ready.

Notes

  • Pre-mix the spices: Instead of adding the spices one by one in the pot, mix them all together beforehand to avoid burning except honey and water, as the spices will stick together.
  • Adding sweetener is optional: I've added honey just so that I don't have to later when I'm making the milk or smoothies, but you can skip that step.

How to store:
The paste remains good in a fridge for 2-4 weeks.
This means you can easily make it in advance without worrying about it going spoiled.
Moreover, if you want to extend its durability, place it into silicon molds to easily extract the required amount when needed, and store it in the freezer for 4-5 months.
