Ingredients

  • 2 Honeycrisp Apples
  • 3 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Lemon squeezed
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick

Instructions

  • In a skillet, add apples, sugar, squeezed lemon, and cinnamon, and switch on the flame to medium.
  • Cook them till the sugar has caramelized and the apples have become soft.
  • Lower the heat, and saute the ingredients, so that apples do not burn.
  • Take them out, set them on a plate evenly, and put them in the freezer for 5-6 minutes to settle up the flavors and texture.
  • Your apple compote is ready to be served.

Notes

  • White sugar alternatives: Instead of white granulated sugar, you can go for brown sugar. It makes the compote look the part with its brown smokey colors and flavors.
  • Some more additions: You can add salt if the sweetness levels are too high for you, and some vanilla extract for more flavor.
